BREATHE BAGUIO

#BreatheBaguio It is an aspiration for this modern mountain paradise through its unique selling points of Culture, Environment, and Safety. Stakeholders and mindful tourists must continue to work together to truly experience Breathe Baguio!
===
From our rich cultural heritage and character
as mainly influenced by indigenous Cordillera
and impacted by a blend of lowland and foreign settlers,
to the creative vibe that drives productivity and sustainable urban renewal.
From the natural beauty of an invigorating haven
to the refreshing escape that provides wellness for the body, mind and soul…
no other place can have an impact that makes one to be better, healed and more alive;
simple, yet essential… just like breathing.
Let us be immersed in this Eden dream of ours… as we BREATHE culture, BREATHE creativity, BREATHE nature, BREATHE wellness…

MONTANOSA FILM FESTIVAL (march 20-28, 2021)

Picture
The Montañosa Film Festival is a eight-day special event wherein carefully selected independent short films will be screened to an audience vying for awards and prestige. The festival will showcase exceptional narrative fiction and documentary films by budding filmmakers of the Cordillera Administrative Region. The festival will be organized and held in Baguio City, most commonly referred to as the window to other destinations in the Cordilleras.

The festival will have three (3) sections namely films-in-competition, non-competing screenings of notable films by award winning and acknowledged Filipino filmmakers, and international films. Screenings will be done through online platforms and cinema set-up as well, following strict health and sanitary practices. Aside from the competition and film screenings, dialogues, interactive discussions and workshops will be conducted online.
The festival shall serve as a medium and a tool of social expression providing a platform for filmmakers to present their work and discuss relevant topics like environment, health, peace, freedom, art, culture, heritage, political and social issues, contemporary living, among many others. Hence the film festival aims to encourage creativity, inspire and create dialogue between and among people while crossing the borders and limits of traditional communication methods.

This pilot event shall strictly conform to all safety and health protocols and will explore alternative methods of screening to avoid health risks. The First Montañosa Film Festival is planned to become an annual event and is expected to eventually expand its scope to include national and international participation in the coming years.

The first Montañosa Film Festival is presented by the Baguio City Mayor’s Office, Department of Tourism, DOT Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, and The Workshop for Infinite Media, Inc., supported by festival lead partners- the National Commission for Culture and the Arts Chairman / Cultural Center of the Philippines President Arsenio Nick Lizaso, Council for Baguio Creative City, Baguio Tourism Council, BTC Chairman Gladys Vergara De Vera, Atty. Good ACTS (Artists and Craftspeople Trust Support)

Good ACTS is a call for support from people with the means to help. These funds will be used to support Baguio City resident/based artists in any discipline, who have been directly impacted by the COVID19 pandemic. The funds raised will offer relief to artists and craftspeople of Baguio City in the immediate short term in the form of basic relief and emergency packages and an eventual one time stipend and in the long term in the form of programs and resources for alternative and sustainable marketing opportunities.

Only Baguio resident/ based artists, craftspeople or creative workers in the Baguio tourism industry who has been impacted by the COVID19 pandemic may apply for assistance. Assistance will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis, with the only limitation being how much money we are able to raise. The only requirements are (1) you demonstrate you’re an artist by sharing your resume and website, where applicable, and (2) you share this fundraiser with your own networks and provide proof of that activity via a screenshot.
